Data-Driven DC: How Analytics Are Rewiring Political Media
A candid, insider conversation on the future of political influence — where voter analytics, media targeting, campaign communication, and content strategy intersect.

What Happened
Columbia University's School of Professional Studies sponsored a panel on how analytics are reshaping political media, held at the Cannon Caucus Room for Hill Staffers and DC pros. The panel featured Sara Fagen, CEO and co-founder of Tunnl and former White House Political Director for President George W. Bush, alongside Andrew Markoff, Vice President at Three Point Media and formerly of the Kamala for President 2024 campaign, Dropbox, and Applecart. Discussion covered how political media has changed over the last five years, common misconceptions Washington holds about how voters actually consume political content, and where political audiences are really spending their time — from broadcast and streaming to social and creator content — before closing with practical analytics takeaways for Congressional comms teams. Dr. Michael Schwam-Baird and current Columbia SPS students joined in attendance.
